WASSP sonar used to survey accident site

The cargo vessel Rena went aground on Astrolabe Reef off the north coast of New Zealand on the 5th of October 2011. In addition to the leaking oil the vessel has also lost an estimated 70 shipping containers. “These are potentially more worrying now than the fuel oil leaking from the ship”.  A WASSP sonar has been used to locate these containers both on the seabed and in the water-column.
