Olex data| Uses in research and policy

There has never been a greater need for detailed marine environmental information. Olex has been collating vast quantities of fisheries acoustic information for over a decade. Olex is remarkable in making data-sharing a key part of the system, giving access to disparate, private datasets.

Olex mapping system

An extremely robust and accessible system for handling bathymetric data. Olex excels at handling massive high-resolution datasets. Over the past ten years Olex users have shared their data and produced one of the largest bathymetric databases in the world.

Olex is used in two main ways: firstly as a real-time data acquisition system on research vessels; secondly as an offline data-management and processing tool. Have a look at our new video section for more examples such as seagrass and water-current mapping.
